The Garnet, ranked eighth nationally, defeated the Tartans 4-1. Carnegie Mellon concludes its dual match season with a record of 15-6 while Swarthmore moves to 22-6.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked ninth in the nation, faced off against 33rd-ranked Washington and Lee University on Saturday afternoon in the second round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship. The Tartans won 4-0 to move to 15-5 for the season while the Generals season ended with a 12-11 mark. The match was played on the campus of Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.

Sophomore Alex Feies has been named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Tennis Player of the Year and is joined on the All-Association team by five others. The Carnegie Mellon University first singles and doubles player becomes the second player in school history to earn the top award, as Daniel Levine received the honor in 2018.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team has been selected to compete for the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship and will travel to Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, for the first, second and third rounds of competition from Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10. The appearance in the postseason event will be the eighth for the program and third under head coach Mike Belmonte, as the Tartans return to the championship field for the first time since reaching the third round in 2021.

The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team traveled north to Cleveland, Ohio, to face sixth-ranked Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, April 18. The Spartans rallied through singles play to win the match, 5-2, pushing their record to 24-7 while the Tartans move to 13-3.

The Carnegie Mellon men's tennis team, ranked ninth nationally, won the inaugural Battleground Invitational hosted by the University of Mary Washington on Saturday after topping Johns Hopkins University, ranked seventh nationally, 4-2. On Friday the Tartans beat Mary Washington 4-2 and the Washington University in St. Louis 4-3. The Tartans are now 13-2 in dual action this season.
