#5 Tartans Fall in Semifinals of UAA Championship

(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) – The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team fell to sixth-ranked Case Western Reserve University in the semifinals of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Friday, April 24. The 4-1 loss puts the Tartans at 14-4 for the season.

Inside the Results

  • Sophomores Brendan Hendrata and Alex Feies won at first doubles by a 6-4 score to give the Tartans a chance for the doubles point before the number two pair for Case Western Reserve won in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-5).
  • The Spartans then took a 3-0 lead with wins at sixth and fourth singles.
  • Feies made it 3-1 with a victory at first singles with set scores of 7-5 and 6-2.
  • Case Western Reserve earned match point at third singles.
