#5 Tartans Finish Play at UAA Championship Tournament
(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) - The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played 16th-ranked Emory University in the third-place match of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans dropped a hard 4-2 battle to Emory and finish the regular season with a record of 14-5.
Inside the Results
- Emory won the team doubles point with wins at one and two doubles.
- Sophomore Alex Feies won by retirement at the top spot as the score was then tied at 1-all.
- After the Eagles claimed a point at two singles, junior Daniel Kong won a straight set match at six singles by the score of 6-1, 6-2.
- Emory regained the lead with a win at four singles and then sealed the victory with a three-set win in the third spot.
- Freshman Ian Miller was in the third set when play was stopped.
