#5 Tartans Fall 5-2 at #6 Case Western Reserve
(CLEVELAND, Ohio) - The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team traveled north to Cleveland, Ohio, to face sixth-ranked Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, April 18. The Spartans rallied through singles play to win the match, 5-2, pushing their record to 24-7 while the Tartans move to 13-3.
Inside the Results
- The Tartans took the doubles point with wins at the second and third positions.
- Case Western Reserve first won at first doubles before sophomores Brendan Hendrata and Alex Feies won 6-3 at second doubles. Sophomores Takeshi Koey and Daniel Kong then won 7-5 at third doubles for the 1-0 lead.
- The Spartans answered with straight set wins at sixth, fifth, and fourth singles to lead 3-1.
- Feies made it 3-2 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at first singles.
- Case Western then won 6-3, 7-5 at third singles to seal the win before a three-set win at second singles against Koey.

The Tartans will head to Florida for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships with an opening quarterfinals match on Thursday, April 23 at 8:30 a.m. Seeding for the tournament will be released early this week.
