Six Tartans Receive All-Academic Honor from USTFCCCA

Six members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team were named to the All-Academic team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, the Tartans earned all-academic team accolades sporting a 3.52 cumulative average.

Tartans Continue Academic Excellence Through Fall Semester

The fall athletics season was highlighted by four team NCAA Championship appearances and six nationally-ranked winter and spring teams, while the Tartans continued to excel in the classroom. An impressive 156 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, and 67% earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country program had its best performance in over 30 years at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships with team placing sixth to mark the program's best finish since 1998. Three athletes finished in the top one hundred with graduate student Chloe Bonson and junior Maya Ducker earning All-America honors.

Tartans Set to Compete in 8th Straight NCAA Championship

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team received an at-large invitation to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships, marking the eighth straight bid for the Tartans. This year's race will be hosted at Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Saturday, November 22. The team's appearance marks the 11th in program history.

The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team made history this weekend at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional hosted by Dickinson College when graduate student Chloe Bonson won the meet and paced the Tartans to a second-place finish, their fourth straight. Winning the race was fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins University.

The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team competed at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship hosted by Washington University in St. Louis at a nearby course in Edwardsville, Illinois. The women finished in second place behind fifth-ranked NYU, making this the highest UAA finish since 1998. Four of the Tartans achieved all-conference status.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country team, ranked eighth in NCAA Division III dominated the Rowan Interregional Border Battle at Rowan University on Saturday, October 18. The Tartans scored 32 points almost 100 below the second place team.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country team returned back to Clinton, Pennsylvania, to host the Carnegie Mellon Invitational after competing on the same course earlier this year. The Tartans placed seventh out of 19 teams. Adding to the excitement of the day, eight CMU cross country alumni returned to the home meet to race. Their presence was a testament to the lasting community and spirit of the program.

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country team, ranked seventh in DIII competed in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Friday, October 3. In an exciting and hot race the Tartans placed second out of 45 teams, scoring 157 points on the 6k course.

The award is the second of the season for Bonson and the team.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross-country team started the year strong with many personal records at the Panthers Opener hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at Schenley Park near the CMU campus. The women ran the 5k course against Pittsburgh and Mount Union, placing second, in a tight race against Pittsburgh.
