Bonson Wins Regional Title, Tartans Place Second
(NEWVILLE, Pa.) – The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team made history this weekend at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional hosted by Dickinson College when graduate student Chloe Bonson won the meet and paced the Tartans to a second-place finish, their fourth straight. Winning the race was fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins University.

Results:
- Bonson won the race by six seconds in 21:24.42, leading the field for over 3k of the 6k race, becoming the first Tartan to win the regional event.
- Finishing in fifth place, just like her 2024 finish, was junior Ananya Devpura in a time of 21:52.45.
- Senior Orit Shiang finished 15th with a time of 22:19.43.
- Following shortly behind Shiang was sophomore Elise Kempf in 16th in 22:20.45.
- Rounding out the top five was sophomore Emma Horsley in 28th with a time of 22:41.69.
- Finishing in 30th, was senior Margaret Ann Healy with a time of 22:47.06.
- Senior Jackie Liu crossed the finish line in 44th with a time of 23:26.66.
- Bonson, Devpura, Shiang, Kempf, Horsley, and Healy earn All-Region honors for finishing in the top 35.

The Tartans will await their bid to the 2025 NCAA Championship which will be held next weekend, Saturday, November 22, at 12:00 p.m. in Spartansburg, South Carolina.
