Yawman Named WBCA Thirty Under 30 Honoree

Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball assistant coach Megan Yawman has been named to the 2026 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 list presented by Morgan Stanley Global Sports and Entertainment. The WBCA made the announcement on Tuesday, March 24.

Three Tartans Earn All-UAA Status

Senior Nicole Timko, sophomore Payton Baney and freshman Aleena Dinker earned University Athletic Association (UAA) end of year honors when the coaches selected them to the 2025-26 UAA Women's All-Association Basketball Team. Timko was named to the first team while Baney and Dinker are on the second team.
Tartans Close UAA Season with 68-59 Loss at CWRU

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to play Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, February 28. The Spartans were victorious over the Tartans, 68-59, putting the Tartans at 15-10 overall and 7-7 in the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Spartans finish 11-14 overall and 4-10 in the conference.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to play Emory University on Wednesday, February 25 after the game was postponed from Sunday, January 25 due to extreme weather preventing traveling. The Tartans, who just topped Emory at home on Sunday, 69-57, won their third straight game against the Eagles with a 73-66 victory. The Tartans are now 15-9 overall and sit fourth in the University Athletic Association (UAA) with a 7-6 record. The Eagles fall to 14-10 and 4-9.

Dinker earned UAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week and was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the first time in her career.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team hosted No. 1 New York University on Sunday, February 8 with the opportunity to make history on the line for both teams as the Violets were seeking an NCAA Division III basketball record 82nd straight victory and the Tartans were hoping to be the team to stop it. After the Tartans nearly missed upsetting the Violets last week in New York, falling 58-57, they gave NYU all it could handle again before a late fourth-quarter push led to a 69-58 record-setting win for the visitors. The Tartans are now 12-7 overall and 4-4 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Violets move to 20-0 and 9-0.
