UAA Logo

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – A total of 41 Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) All-Academic Recognition list for the winter sports teams, as announced by the league office.

All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and who carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.500. The winter academic honor roll includes 426 student-athletes representing teams participating in the four men’s and three women’s winter sports for which the UAA sponsors competition. The honored recipients represent approximately 67 percent of the total eligible UAA student-athletes.

The UAA Presidents Council established a program of All-Academic recognition in April 1998. Qualifying student-athletes are recognized at the completion of the fall, winter, and spring seasons each year. The honor is intended to recognize the high level of academic achievement demonstrated by student-athletes who effectively balance their significant commitment of time, effort, and energy in athletic endeavors with their highly challenging academic responsibilities.

Among the 41 Carnegie Mellon student-athletes to earn the honor this winter, six are from the women’s basketball team, six from the men’s basketball team, 15 from the women's swimming and diving team and 14 from the men’s swimming and diving team.
