Payton Baney - Women’s Basketball

Sophomore Payton Baney averaged 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds with her first career double-double, as the Carnegie Mellon women's basketball team defeated Brandeis 55-53 before falling 69-58 to No. 1 NYU. Baney started the weekend shooting 62.5% from the floor against Brandeis for 10 points. She then shot 50.0% from the floor for 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against NYU while playing exterior defense against the UAA's top three-point shooter in the fourth quarter, holding her to one made shot in the frame while the Tartans got to within five points before the late quarter push by the Violets.
