ITA Honors Women’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Nine Named Scholar Athletes

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the 16th straight season and 23rd time in the last 24 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, nine players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
Yang Selected to CSC Academic All-America Women's Tennis Team

Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis senior Sarah Yang has been named to the Academic All-America® women's tennis team as selected by the College Sports Communicators. Yang was selected to the second team after earning third-team honors last year.
Tartans Impress Once Again in Classroom During Spring Semester

It was a terrific spring semester for Carnegie Mellon Athletics, as nine teams earned NCAA Championship appearances during the winter and spring seasons—while Tartans continued to shine in the classroom. An impressive 147 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, and nearly two-thirds posted a GPA of 3.50 or higher, exemplifying the department’s commitment to excellence on and off the field.
Zinchenko Ends Season in NCAA Singles Bracket

Carnegie Mellon University freshman women’s tennis athlete Shelly Zinchenko competed in the 2025 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Singles Championship on Saturday, May 24 with a round of 64 match on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Zinchenko Named ITA Regional Rookie of the Year

Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis freshman Shelly Zinchenko was honored as the Division III Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Rookie of the Year. Zinchenko is the fifth Tartan in program history to receive the honor and first since Danna Taylor in 2019.

Yang and Zinchenko Invited to NCAA Women's Individual Championships

Senior Sarah Yang and freshman Shelly Zinchenko have been selected to play for the NCAA Division III Women's Individual Championships to be held at Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, California, May 23-27. The championships are being hosted by Claremont McKenna Mudd Scripps Colleges.
#11 Tartans End Season in Third Round of NCAA Championship

The 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis hosted sixth-ranked Wesleyan University in the third round of 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship Saturday afternoon and dropped a 4-0 match. The Tartans move to 23-5 with Wesleyan moving to 20-3.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked 11th in the nation, hosted 45th-ranked Ohio Northern University on Friday in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship. The Tartans won 4-0 to move to 23-4 for the season while Ohio Northern ends the season with a 19-5 mark.

The 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women’s tennis team opened the 2025 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championship with a 4-0 win over Penn State Behrend in the first round on Thursday, May 8. The Tartans are in the NCAA Championship for the 19th time in program history and have advanced to the second round each time.
Zinchenko Named UAA Rookie of the Year; Four Others Honored on All-UAA Team

Carnegie Mellon University first-year athlete Shelly Zinchenko has been named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Year with four others earning All-Association honors. Zinchenko is the third UAA Rookie of the Year for the Tartans and first since 2008.

Tartans Selected to NCAA Championship, Will Host Early Rounds

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team has been selected to compete for the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship and will have the honor of hosting the first, second and third rounds of competition. The appearance in the postseason event will be the 19th for the program, all coming under head coach Andrew Girard. The Tartans will host action on Thursday, May 8 through Saturday, May 10 with five teams traveling to Pittsburgh.

The ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team played 10th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis in the third-place match of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans lost 4-0 and moved to 21-4 overall while the Bears are now 13-7.

The ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team ran into second-ranked Emory University in the semifinals of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Friday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans dropped a 4-1 match and are now 21-3 overall while the Eagles are now 14-4.

The ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Thursday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with a 4-0 win over 29th-ranked NYU. The Tartans move to 21-2 overall while the Violets are now 7-6.
