ITA Honors Women’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Nine Named Scholar Athletes
(TEMPE, Ariz.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the 16th straight season and 23rd time in the last 24 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, nine players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above during the last academic year. The women's team achieved a cumulative average of 3.67 for the year.
In addition to the team honor, seniors Zoe Angell and Sarah Yang, juniors Anna Chow and Divya Venkatarama, sophomore Ainika Hou, and first-year athletes Ancele Dolensek, Victoria Gazda, Rachel Li, and Shelly Zinchenko were honored as ITA Scholar Athletes.
In order to be eligible to be an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have an academic year GPA of at least 3.50 and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
