#9 Tartans Lost in Semifinal Match of the UAA Championship to #2 Emory
(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) - The ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team ran into second-ranked Emory University in the semifinals of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Friday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans dropped a 4-1 match and are now 21-3 overall while the Eagles are now 14-4.
Inside the Results:
- The Eagles took the point in doubles play with wins at first and third.
- The Tartans second tandem of freshman Ancele Dolensek and junior Divya Venkatarama were victorious by the score of 6-3.
- Senior Sarah Yang won at two singles by the scores of 6-2, 6-2 to tie the score at 1-all.
- Emory then took points at first, third and fifth singles to seal the win.
- Junior Manuela Van Cotthem and freshman Victoria Gazda were both leading in the third set when play was stopped.

- The Tartans will now play 10th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis in the third-place match at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26.
