Bennett Grace Named Centennial Conference Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 46 Carnegie Mellon Football Players Recognized on Academic Fall Honor Roll

(LANCASTER, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University football team landed 46 members on the Centennial Conference (CC) Academic Honor Roll, which was released on Tuesday. Senior linebacker Bennett Grace was named Scholar-Athletes of the Year for football and 10 also were named to the Academic All-Centennial team.

The Scholar-Athlete of the Year is presented to a member of the junior or senior class with the highest cumulative GPA on the All-Centennial team. Grace was named to the second team last week after he finished second on the Tartans with 10.5 tackles for a loss which ranked fourth in the league in the regular season. He also finished with 2.0 sacks and 48 tackles.

To be nominated for the Academic All-Centennial team a student-athlete must receive both All-Conference and Academic Honor Roll honors. To be nominated for the honor roll, a student-athlete must be of sophomore standing or higher and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.40.
