Larsen Named to the 2026 Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Coaching Academy Class

(TAMPA, Fla.) – Carnegie Mellon University football head coach Ryan Larsen has been selected as one of 25 finalists that were named out of nearly 1,000 applicants for the 2026 Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Coaching Academy. Now in its third year, the Academy was created by the Glazer family to create pathways for coaches seeking the opportunity to work in the National Football League (NFL) as part of their longstanding commitment to developing leaders.
Tony Neymeiyer Hired as Senior Associate Head Football Coach

Carnegie Mellon University football head coach Ryan Larsen has announced the hiring of Tony Neymeiyer to the Tartans’ coaching staff. Neymeiyer joins Coach Larsen’s staff with a newly created full-time position as Senior Associate Head Coach / Offensive Line Coach.
17 Carnegie Mellon Football Players Named to the NFF Hampshire Honor Society

The Carnegie Mellon University football team had 17 student-athletes named to the 2026 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society class, marking the program’s 20th anniversary and introducing the largest group of honorees in its history. The class is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.
Grace Named CSC Academic All-America

Carnegie Mellon University senior Bennett Grace was honored on the 2025 Academic All-America® Division III Football Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Grace was selected to the first team and becomes the 73rd Academic All-American in program history, as the Tartans rank first in Division III and second among all of college football across Divisions I, II, III and NAIA.
Tartans Continue Academic Excellence Through Fall Semester

The fall athletics season was highlighted by four team NCAA Championship appearances and six nationally-ranked winter and spring teams, while the Tartans continued to excel in the classroom. An impressive 156 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, and 67% earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Three Carnegie Mellon University football players have been honored on the 2025 D3football.com All-Region 2 team with graduate student defensive lineman Mitchell Stokey garnering second team accolades while senior offensive lineman Sam Alligood and junior defensive back Ethan Ming landed a spot on the third team.
Bennett Grace Named Centennial Conference Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 46 Carnegie Mellon Football Players Recognized on Academic Fall Honor Roll

The Carnegie Mellon University football team landed 46 members on the Centennial Conference (CC) Academic Honor Roll, which was released on Tuesday. Senior linebacker Bennett Grace was named Scholar-Athletes of the Year for football and 10 also were named to the Academic All-Centennial team.
Tartans Close Season with 24-17 Centennial-MAC Bowl Series Victory Over Misericordia

The Carnegie Mellon University football team hosted Misericordia University on Saturday afternoon in a Centennial-MAC Bowl Series contest, as it marks the 10th years of the bowl series. The Tartans won a thriller 24-17 in their first appearance in a bowl series with senior Connor Warren being named the Most Valuable Player of the game.
Football Places 16 on All-Centennial Team

The Carnegie Mellon University football team had 16 players receive All-Centennial Conference (CC) distinction, announced by the conference office following voting by the league coaches. The Tartans placed five on the first team, six on the second team and four were named honorable mention and one was honored to the sportsmanship team.

The Carnegie Mellon University football team traveled to Collegeville, Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon for its final Centennial Conference game of the season against the Bears of Ursinus College. The Tartans dropped a 27-20 contest and ended the regular season at 5-5 overall and 3-4 in CC play while the Bears have the identical mark.
Tartans Drop Close Battle to Franklin & Marshall

The Carnegie Mellon University football team concluded its home regular season slate on Saturday with a 31-24 Centennial Conference (CC) setback to Franklin & Marshall College. The Tartans moved 5-4 overall and 3-3 in conference while F&M improved to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in conference.

The Carnegie Mellon University football team traveled to Carlisle, Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon to play Dickinson College in a Centennial Conference (CC) contest. The Tartans scored a touchdown on all 10 possessions and left Carlisle with a 70-29 victory to move to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Dickinson is now 4-4, 2-3.
#16 Tartans Tripped Up at Muhlenberg, 27-23

The Carnegie Mellon University football team, ranked 16th nationally, traveled to Allentown, Pennsylvania on Saturday for a Centennial Conference contest against the Mules of Muhlenberg College. The Mules scored 20 unanswered points to claim the 27-23 win over the Tartans. Carnegie Mellon moves to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play while Muhlenberg goes to 6-1, 3-1.
