Tartans Land Three on 2025 D3football.com All-Region 2 Team
(MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.) – Three Carnegie Mellon University football players have been honored on the 2025 D3football.com All-Region 2 team with graduate student defensive lineman Mitchell Stokey garnering second team accolades while senior offensive lineman Sam Alligood and junior defensive back Ethan Ming landed a spot on the third team.
It marks the 12th straight season the Tartans have had at least one player receive All-Region accolade and the fifth straight to have multiple named. All three were first team All-Centennial Conference (CC) selections this season. This marks the second consecutive appearance for Stokey on the all-region squad, as he was named to the third team a year ago.
Stokey ended the regular season with a Centennial Conference best 7.0 sacks and tabbed 11.5 tackles for a loss of 48 yards, 39 total tackles, had seven pass breakups and blocked three kicks which ranked tops in the league and fourth in the nation. His 11.5 tackles for a loss ranked third in the conference. Stokey ended his career with 20.0 sacks which ranks seventh all-time in program history.
Ming ended the regular season leading the Tartans with 37 solo tackles and was second with 63 total stops. His 37 solo tackles ranked ninth in the Centennial Conference while ranking 11th in total tackles. The junior recorded four pass breakups, had two interceptions, forced a fumble and recovered another.
Alligood was the anchor of the Tartans offensive line. Alligood started all 10 games this season at left tackle. He helped pass protect for an offense that ranked first in the Centennial in passing offense.
