Tartans Continue Academic Excellence Through Fall Semester

The fall athletics season was highlighted by four team NCAA Championship appearances and six nationally-ranked winter and spring teams, while the Tartans continued to excel in the classroom. An impressive 156 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, and 67% earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Tummala Named CSC Academic All-America

Carnegie Mellon University junior Neha Tummala was honored on the 2025 Academic All-America® Division III Volleyball Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators. Tummala, who is one of 21 student-athletes across Division III, was selected to the third team and is one of six non-seniors to receive the award.
Four from Volleyball Honored on CSC Academic All-District Team

McFarland and Giang Honored as All-Americans

Senior middle blocker Julianna McFarland and junior outside hitter Kate Giang garnered national accolades from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with their respective All-America Honorable Mention selections for 2025. Both receive the honor for the first time.

#23 Tartans Close Season in NCAA Regional Final Against #4 Wisconsin-Eau Claire

The 23rd-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team's season came to an end on Saturday, November 22 in the regional final of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship after a 3-2 decision went to fourth-ranked Wisconsin-Eau Claire. It marked the second time in program history the Tartans played for a regional title.
#23 Tartans Move On in NCAA Tournament, Top #10 Hope, 3-2

The 23rd-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team advanced to the regional final of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship with a 3-2 win against 10th-ranked Hope College on Friday, November 21 at home at the Highmark Center for Health, Wellness and Athletics.

#23 Tartans Open NCAA Tournament with 3-0 Win

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team re-entered the national rankings at 23rd and topped Stevens Institute of Technology on Thursday, November 20 in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship at home in the Highmark Center for Health, Wellness and Athletics. The Tartans are now 25-8 for the season.
McFarland Named UAA Volleyball Most Valuable Player; Coaching Staff Receives Recognition

Senior middle blocker Julianna McFarland of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team has been named University Athletic Association (UAA) Most Valuable Player when the league announced its postseason accolades on Tuesday. McFarland also landed a spot on the All-UAA first team while juniors Neha Tummala and Kate Giang were named to the second team with senior Katherine Jackson and junior Zoe Gavros being recognized as honorable mention honorees.
Tartans Selected to Host NCAA Volleyball Regional

For the fourth straight season, the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team will compete for a national championship after winning the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship and earning automatic qualification to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship. The Tartans have also been selected to host an eight-team regional in the Highmark Center for Health, Wellness and Athletics from November 20-22.
McFarland and Jackson Named Volleyball Athletes of the Week

Carnegie Mellon University swept the University Athletic Association (UAA) Volleyball Athlete of the Week awards with senior Julianna McFarland taking the defensive award and classmate Katherine Jackson taking the offensive award, as they helped the Tartans win the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship, the first in program history.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team defeated 17th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis in the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship match to earn the program’s first UAA Championship. The Tartans won by a 3-0 score (25-22, 25-22, 25-15) to move to 24-8 for the season.
Tartans to Play for UAA Championship

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team will play for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship after advancing to the finals of the championship tournament following two wins on Saturday at Brandeis University. The Tartans defeated Case Western Reserve University, 3-2, in the quarterfinals and the University of Chicago, 3-0, in the semifinals. The Tartans overall record sits at 23-8.

The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team faced Penn State Altoona and the ninth-ranked Juniata College on Saturday. The Tartans won 3-0 against Penn State Altoona and fell 3-2 to Juniata.
