Four from Volleyball Honored on CSC Academic All-District Team

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Four Carnegie Mellon University volleyball student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III Women's Volleyball.

The Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Players honored were selected by their school's Athletics Communications professionals. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games and carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have achieved at least sophomore academic and athletic standing.

Academic All‐District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America ballot. First‐, second‐ and third-team Academic All‐America honorees will be announced in January, following a vote by CSC's membership, which is comprised of more than 3,000 sports information and athletic communication professionals throughout the United States and Canada.

This year's honorees for the Tartans are:

Zoe Gavros - Jr. - 3.85 - Business Administration
Kai Herchenroether - Sr. - 3.85 - Mechanical Engineering
Julianna McFarland - Sr. - 3.81 - Decision Science
Neha Tummala - Jr. - 4.00 - Neuroscience

McFarland and Tummala are two-time honorees.
