ITA Honors Women’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; 12 Named Scholar Athletes

(GILBERT, Ariz.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the 17th straight season and 24th time in the last 25 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, 12 players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above during the last academic year. The women's team achieved a cumulative average of 3.76 for the year.

In addition to the team honor, seniors Anna Chow, Anika Joshi, Manuela Van Cotthem and Divya Venkatarama, junior Ainika Hou, sophomores Ancele Dolensek, Victoria Gazda, Rachel Li, Kotistha Modak and Shelly Zinchenko along with freshmen Allison Hsieh and Jane Wongwere honored as ITA Scholar Athletes.

In order to be eligible to be an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have an academic year GPA of at least 3.50 and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
