Tartans Defeat Haverford, 6-1
(HAVERFORD, Pa.) – The 17th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team competed against the 26th-ranked Haverford College on Saturday, February 28 on the road. The Tartans won the match with a final score of 6-1 to advance to 5-0 for the season.
Inside the Results
- The Tartans won all three doubles matches with sophomore Brendan Hendrata and graduate student Diogo Tinoco winning at first doubles, 6-3 and junior Raghav Jangbahadur and senior Akshay Joshi winning at second doubles, 6-4, to secure the team point.
- The Tartans won five of six singles matches beginning with a 6-2, 6-2 win from sophomore Alex Feies at first singles.
- Jangbahadur was successful at third singles, 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.
- At fourth singles, sophomore Takeshi Koey won 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to secure the match win.
- Hendrata went 6-3, 7-5 at fifth singles.
- Freshman Ian Miller finished strong at sixth singles with a 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (15-13) win.

The Tartans will play a string of nationally-ranked opponents in Florida during their spring break week, beginning with 20th-ranked RPI on Tuesday, March 3. Competition will begin at 2:30 p.m.
