#17 Tartans Takedown #35 Franklin & Marshall
(MONROEVILLE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon men's tennis team, ranked 17th, competed against the 35th-ranked Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday afternoon. The Tartans swept the Diplomats to improve to 4-0 on the season.
Inside the Results
- The Tartans went three for three in the doubles play. Sophomores Alex Feies and Takeshi Koey won 6-3 at the third spot followed by graduate student Diogo Tinoco and sophomore Brendan Hendrata at the top spot to claim the doubles point, as they won 6-4. Junior Raghav Jangbahadur and senior Akshay Joshi collected a 7-6 (1) victory at second doubles.
- Jangbahadur came out on top in third singles 6-2, 6-2 for the Tartans first point in singles play.
- Koey then won fourth singles 6-2, 6-1 followed by Feies at first singles by the scores of 6-2, 6-2 to seal the win for the Cardinal and Gray.
- Tinoco collected a victory at second singles 6-2, 6-0.
- Freshman Ian Miller went 6-4, 6-3 in fifth singles while sophomore Braden Chavez won the final singles match 6-2, 7-5.
