(ORLANDO, Fla.) - The 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team defeated both 19th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College with a 6-1 score and North Central College with a score of 7-0 on Friday in Orlando, Florida. The Tartans are now 11-0 for the season.

Inside the Results Against Gustavus Adolphus

  • The Tartans took to the doubles point with wins at second and third doubles. Sophomores Rachel Li and Shelly Zinchenko finished first at third doubles with a 6-3 score. Sophomore Ancele Dolensek and senior Divya Venkatarama won 6-4 at second doubles.
  • Freshman Ika Kanumuri finished third singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory to put the Tartans up 2-0.
  • Sophomore Victoria Gazda won 6-3, 6-1 at fourth singles and Zinchenko sealed the win at second singles by winning 6-3, 6-1.
  • The other victories for the Tartans came from senior Manuela Van Cotthem at sixth singles and sophomore Kotistha Modak at first singles.

Inside the Results Against North Central

  • The Tartans won all three doubles matches. The pair of Dolensek and Venkatarama went 6-0 at second doubles followed by junior Ainika Hou and Li winning third doubles 6-1 to secure the doubles point. Kanumuri and Modak then won at first doubles 6-3.
  • Senior Anika Joshi claimed the first point of singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth spot.
  • Kanumuri went 6-0, 6-1 at second doubles while freshman Allison Hsieh finished with a score of 6-2, 6-1 at fifth singles to secure the win for the Tartans.
  • The other victories for the Tartans came from Zinchenko at the top spot, Dolensek at two singles and Van Cotthem at four singles.
