The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as nine individuals were also named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.

Tartans Impress Once Again in Classroom During Spring Semester

It was a terrific spring semester for Carnegie Mellon Athletics, as nine teams earned NCAA Championship appearances during the winter and spring seasons—while Tartans continued to shine in the classroom. An impressive 147 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, and nearly two-thirds posted a GPA of 3.50 or higher, exemplifying the department’s commitment to excellence on and off the field.

Sophomore Brayden Morford was selected to the first team while junior Arnav Deshpande and senior Christian Lanuza were named to the third team.

This weekend, the Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving program won three national titles — two by sophomore Brayden Morford in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke, and one by the 400-yard medley relay team — and earned All-America honors in nine events to power the team to a sixth-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The finish is the highest since 2005 and tied for the fourth-highest finish in program history.
