Men's Swimming and Diving Honored by CSCAA for Academics

The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as nine individuals were also named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.
Tartans Impress Once Again in Classroom During Spring Semester

It was a terrific spring semester for Carnegie Mellon Athletics, as nine teams earned NCAA Championship appearances during the winter and spring seasons—while Tartans continued to shine in the classroom. An impressive 147 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, and nearly two-thirds posted a GPA of 3.50 or higher, exemplifying the department’s commitment to excellence on and off the field.
Three Tartans Garner Academic All-America Recognition

Three Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving athletes have been named to the Academic All-America® men's swimming and diving team as selected by the College Sports Communicators. Sophomore Brayden Morford was selected to the first team while junior Arnav Deshpande and senior Christian Lanuza were named to the third team.

Tartans Win Three National Titles in Men's Swimming and Diving

This weekend, the Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving program won three national titles — two by sophomore Brayden Morford in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke, and one by the 400-yard medley relay team — and earned All-America honors in nine events to power the team to a sixth-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The finish is the highest since 2005 and tied for the fourth-highest finish in program history.

The Carnegie Mellon men's swimming and diving team ended competition at the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Saturday. The Tartans placed sixth overall and recorded three additional All-America honors on the last day while setting two school records.
National Champ Once Again; Morford Wins 100-yard Backstroke

Sophomore Brayden Morford is a three-time NCAA Champion after Friday night's 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. The national meet is being held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Morford won his second individual event on the third day of the four-day meet.
