Tartans Close Season at Case Western Reserve
(CLEVELAND, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team concluded its season with a 93-83 setback at Case Western Reserve University Saturday afternoon in University Athletic Association (UAA) play. The loss puts the Tartans overall record at 11-14 and 3-1 in UAA play while the Spartans finish their season with a record of 12-13, 4-10.

How it Happened
- With 14:14 to play in the first half the Tartans took a 21-16 lead following a 10-2 run where sophomore Evan Mirazimi accounted for seven of the Cardinal and Gray points.
- Two minutes later, CWRU responded with a 10-3 run and retook the lead, 28-26 at the midway point of the half.
- A triple by junior Isaac Higgs followed by layup from Mirazimi gave the lead right back to the Tartans at 31-28 with 9:23 remaining in the half.
- After two lead changes over the next four minutes, the Spartnas grabbed a 36-35 advantage to start a 9-0 stretch for the home team.
- CWRU lead grew to as many as nine points before taking a 53-45 lead into the break.
- The Spartans extended their lead to 13 points two minutes into the second half, but a 15-2 run by Carnegie Mellon cut the lead to 62-60 with 14 minutes to play.
- Over the next three minutes, CWRU pushed its lead back to double digits at 75-65 and continued to control the contest the rest of the way to go on to the 93-83 victory.

- The Tartans ended the game shooting 30-57 (52.6%) from the floor and 12-28 (42.9%) from behind the arc.
- Graduate student Nikola Dimitrijevic led the team with 20 points. He also had a team-high of three blocks and recorded four assists.
- Mirazimi and Higgs scored 15 and 16 points, respectively. Mirazimi grabbed nine rebounds and handed out four assists with Higgs grabbing eight boards.
- Senior Buckley DeJardin finished the game with 11 points and six rebounds.
- Graduate student Sam Adusei handed out six assists and added 10 points.
Spartan Stats
- The Spartans ended the game shooting 33-75 (44%) from the floor and 11-34 (32.4%) from behind the arc.
- Ethan Edwards led the team with 32 points and seven steals.
- Julian Scott scored 21 points and had eight rebounds while Alex Vincent scored 12 points.
Game Notes
- DeJardin ended his career ranked 21st on the career Tartan scoring list with 1,079 points.
