Tartans Sweep Through RIT and Penn State Behrend

(ERIE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team competed against Rochester Institute of Technology and Penn State Behrend this Saturday, October 4, winning both matches 3-0 to move to 15-5 overall.

Inside the Box Score of Game 1

• The Tartans won with set scores of 25-19, 25-13, and 25-14.
• Junior Kate Giang led the team's offense with eight kills. She also led the team's defense with six digs.
• Senior Elizabeth Schemmer and freshman Logan Devereux both had six kills respectively.
• Junior Neha Tummala dished out 21 assists, more than the entire RIT team collected.
• Junior Zoe Gavros had four service aces.
• Senior Julianna McFarland had two block assists.

Inside the Box Score of Game 2

• The Tartans won all three games with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-8.
• Senior Katherine Jackson led the team's offense with 11 kills, followed by Giang with eight and McFarland with seven.
• Tummala dished out 17 assists, only three less than the entire Penn State Behrend team.
• Gavros collected 16 digs, followed by Jackson with 11 and Giang with 10.
• Jackson had five service aces.
