(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon Volleyball Program opened its brand-new building in style on Friday night, as the Tartans defeated Westminster College, 3-0. In front of a near-capacity crowd for the first-ever competition in the Highmark Center, Carnegie Mellon won in straight sets to even their record at 2-2. Westminster dropped its first game of the season and is now 4-1.

- The Tartans won sets by 25-21, 26-24, and 25-15, Westminster however hit a .206 to Carnegie's 0.29.
- Graduate student Laura Reichard led the team's offense with 15 kills, followed by junior Julianna McFarland with 12.
- Sophomore Neha Tummala handed out 39 assists in the game, beating Westminster's total assists of 32.
- Senior Abby Chen collected 17 digs to lead the Tartans.
- Reichard collected a match-high three aces.
