Tartans Fall 5-2 To 7th-ranked Johns Hopkins
(FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) – The 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team traveled to Mary Washington University on Friday, March 27. They began three days of competition with a match against seventh-ranked Johns Hopkins University. The Blue Jays defeated the Tartans 5-2. The Tartans are now at 11-2 overall and the Blue Jays are at 7-3.
Inside the Results
- The Blue Jays earned the first point, winning first and third doubles. Sophomore Ancele Dolensek and senior Divya Venkatarama won second doubles, 6-2.
- The Tartans won second and third singles, while the Blue Jays won first, fourth, fifth and sixth singles.
- Freshman Jane Wong was victorious at second singles with a score of 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
- Freshman Ika Kanumuri took third singles, 7-6 (13-11), 7-5.
