#13 Tartans Run Record to 3-0 With Win at #32 Denison
(GRANVILLE, Ohio) - The 13th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team traveled to Granville, Ohio on Saturday and defeated the 32nd-ranked Big Red of Denison 6-1. The win moved the Tartans to 3-0 for the season. The Big Red are now 0-1.
Inside the Results
- The Tartans went ahead 1-0 after sweeping doubles play. The number three doubles team of sophomore Shelly Zinchenko and freshman Jane Wong clinched the point with a 7-5 win.
- The Tartans second doubles tandem of senior Divya Venkatarama and sophomore Ancele Dolensek won 6-4 while the Cardinal and Gray top duo of freshman Ika Kanumuri and sophomore Kotistha Modak won by the identical score.
- The Tartans won five of the six singles matches with Kanumuri finishing first at fourth singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
- Wong put the Tartans ahead 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles before Modak won 6-4, 6-0 at two singles to secure the match win.
- Other wins came from Zinchenko at first singles and Venkatarama in the four spot, both in straight sets.

The Tartans will host Franklin & Marshall University and Dickinson College on Saturday, February 21.
