Five from Women's Soccer Honored on CSC Academic All-District Team
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Five Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III Women's Soccer.
The Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Players honored were selected by their school's Athletics Communications professionals. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games and carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have achieved at least sophomore academic and athletic standing.
Academic All‐District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America ballot. First‐, second‐ and third-team Academic All‐America honorees will be announced in December, following a vote by CSC's membership, which is comprised of more than 3,000 sports information and athletic communication professionals throughout the United States and Canada.
This year's honorees for the Tartans are:
Helena Locateli - Senior - 3.67 - Decision Science
Natalie Rayce - Junior - 3.74 - Statistics and Economics
Thea Spellmeyer - Junior - 3.94 - Chemical Engineering
Saveria Ulizzi - Junior - 3.88 - Mechanical Engineering
Alma Zhong - Sophomore - 3.89 - Electrical and Computer Engineering
Rayce and Ulizzi are repeat honorees.
