Tartans Record Midweek Road Win

(GROVE CITY, Pa.) - The 19th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team won its third away game of the season against Grove City College on Wednesday, September 17. The 2-1 victory raised their record to 6-1-1 overall.

• Freshman Haley Peek scored the first goal of the game in the third minute with a low left shot after a Grove City throw in. It was Peek's first career goal.
• After a strong but quiet offensive fight in the first half, sophomore Alma Zhong scored the second goal for the Tartans in the 59th minute of the game with a low right shot. She was assisted by freshman Kiera Chang.
• Grove City refused to leave the game without a goal, scoring in the 70th minute of the game with a low right shot to end the scoring.
• The Tartans tallied a total of 24 shots with 12 on goal versus Grove City's four shots with two on goal.
• Senior Abby O'Connor earned her third victory in net for the Tartans after making one save and playing 71 minutes.
