(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The sixth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team hosted Baldwin Wallace University for its second game in as many days and defeated the Yellow Jackets by a 3-1 score. The Tartans are now 5-0-3 for the season while the Yellow Jackets are 5-4.
Inside the Box Score
- The Yellow Jackets struck in the first minute when Sydney Rice and Kalyn Rich combined for a shot by Rich from the right side of the 18-yard box to the left side net.
- Carnegie Mellon equalized in the last six seconds of the first half when junior Maggie Doherty lasered a shot from nearly 30 yards out to the left side post for her first career score. Senior Sophia Bastek earned the assist.
- The score stayed tied until the 59th minute when graduate student Cecelia Dieterich scored a left-footed shot to the right post after receiving a pass across the 18-yard box from freshman Alma Zhong.
- Freshman Nicole Lazarakis headed in a goal at the back post directly off a corner kick service from sophomore Natalie Rayce in the 81st minute.
- Sophomore Maddie Kellogg earned the victory in net after playing the second half for the Tartans.
