Feies Starts ITA Cup with a 1-1 Record
(ROME, Ga.) - Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Alex Feies opened competition at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia, on Thursday, October 16 in the round of 16 while he advanced to play in the quarterfinals on Friday, October 17.
Feies won his opening match by a 6-3, 6-3 score over freshman Drew Goldman from Pomona Pitzer College on Thursday. On Friday morning, Feies faced the second seed in senior Kael Shah of Denison University. If the quarterfinals, Shah won the first set 7-6 (7-4) before pulling away in set two with a 6-3 win.
Feies will continue his singles play with a 9:00 a.m. match on Saturday, October 18, against junior Mark Kneiss of Bowdoin College.
