#27 Tartans Close Weekend With a 4-0 Win Over #32 N.C. Wesleyan
(FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) – The 27th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team faced 32nd-ranked North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday at the University of Mary Washington. The Tartans won the match 4-0 and are now 9-6 overall.
How it Happened:
- The Tartans took the point in doubles play as the top tandem of sophomore Raghav Jangbahadur and freshman Brendan Hendrata won 6-3 while the Tartans second doubles tandem of junior Akshay Joshi and freshman Takeshi Koey on 6-0.
- Jangbahadur claimed the first point of singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the second spot.
- The Cardina and Gray top singles player, freshman Alex Feies, then won by the score of 6-1, 6-2 before Koey clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the five spot.
- The match ended with the remaining singles matches abandoned due to time.
