Tartans in Sixth Heading into Final Round of 2026 NCAA Championship; Wang Two Strokes off Individual Lead
(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team carded four-over par 292 in the third round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday on the El Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The Tartans have a 54-hole score of three-over par 863 and are currently sixth in a field of 43 teams heading into the final round of play.

How it Happened:
- Freshman Joshua Wang led the Tartans in round three with a two-under par 70 and is tied for fifth individually in a field of 225 golfers with a five-under par 210 (68-72-70). The freshman sits two strokes back from the individual leaders.
- In the third round, junior Ryan Dannegger ended play with a two-over par 74 and has a score of even par 215 (70-71-74) and is tied for 16th individually.
- Senior David Zhang fired a 75 Thursday afternoon and will enter play on Friday with a two-over par 217 (70-72-75).
- Freshman Charlie Hubbard carded his best round of the championships in round three with a one-over par 73 and has a 222 (73-76-73).
- Freshman Jason Chan has a 54-hole score of 224 (73-75-76) after carding a 76 on Thursday.
