Tartans Tied for Third After Second Round of 2026 NCAA Championship
(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team continued play at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships on Wednesday at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The Tartans recorded a team score of 290 (+2) on the El Campeón Course and have a 36-hole score of 571 (-1) while they sit tied for third place with CMS in a field of 43 teams. Play was suspended for round two with CMS still having one hole to play. Following the completion of the second-round on Thursday at 7:30 a.m., the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and the top six individuals not on advancing teams.

How it Happened:
- Junior Ryan Dannegger led the Tartans on Wednesday with a one-under par 71 and has a 36-hole score of two-under par 141 (70-71). Dannegger tied for 11th individually in a field of 225 golfers.
- Senior David Zhang and freshman Joshua Wang each carded rounds of even par 72 for round two. Wang currently is tied for eighth individually with a 140 (68-72) while Zhang has a 142 (70-72) and is tied for 14th.
- On Wednesday, freshman Jason Chan entered the clubhouse with a three-over par 75 and has a 148 (73-75) heading into the third round.
- Freshman Charlie Hubbard sits a shot back of Chan with a 149 (73-76) after his round of 76.
