Zhang Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Senior David Zhang of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Capitol City Classic last week.

Zhang led the Tartans to a third-place finish in a field of 18 teams that was played at the RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill on April 6-7. The senior placed fifth individually in a field of 95 golfers, as he finished the two-day, three-round event with a two-under par score of 214. Zhang started the classic with a round of one-over par 73, then carded a one-under par 71 and ended play with a two-under par 70.

Zhang has now carded par or under in 11 of his 24 rounds this year and has an average of 73.3 per round.
