Joshua Wang Claimed Individual Medalist Honors, Tartans Place Second at Gate City Invitational
(GREENSBORO, N.C.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team finished play at the 54-hole Gate City Invitational on Tuesday which was played at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Tartans placed second after carding a two-under par 862 with rounds of 283, 288 and 291.

How it Happened:
- In his first collegiate stroke play event, freshman Joshua Wang led the Tartans with a six-under par 210. He opened play with back-to-back rounds of three-under par 69 and then fired a round of even par 72 on Tuesday. Following a four way tie for first individually, Wang was declared the individual medalist by way of scorecard playoff in a field of 96 golfers.
- Junior Ryan Dannegger placed ninth with a one-under par 215 after rounds of one-under par 71, two-under par 70 and a final round of two-over par 74.
- Senior Andrew Wang and freshman Jason Chan both fired a three-round score of three-over par 219. Wang carded three straight rounds of one-over par 73 while Chan posted rounds of one-under par 71, 76 and even par 72.
- Senior David Zhang carded a 227 (72-77-78) over the 54-hole event.
- Competing as an individual was freshman Charlie Hubbard who carded a 215 (74-71-70).
