Chan and Vieira Named 2025 PING All-America; Rodgers Named Region Coach of the Year
(NORMAN, Okla.) – Senior Justin Chan and freshman Leonardo Vieira of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team have been named to the Division III PING All-American Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Chan repeated as a first team member while Vieira was named to the honorable mention squad. In addition, head coach Dan Rodgers was named the 2025 Golf Pride Grips Region V Coach of the Year.
The Tartans placed fifth at the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, as it was the eighth appearance by the Tartans at the championship event and sixth straight.
Chan, who was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Golfer of the Year, ended the season ranked fifth via Scoreboard powered by Clippd, Chan recorded his first collegiate individual medalist honor at the Golfweek October Classic and recorded five other top-five finishes this season. The senior from Surrey, England ended the year with a team-leading 71.5 scoring average through 27 rounds. Chan is a four-time PING All-Region V honoree and three-time PING All-American, including First Team the last two seasons. He recorded 18 rounds of even par or better this season.
Vieira placed fourth individually at the NCAA Championships with a 72-hole score of even par 288 which tied for the sixth lowest four-round score in program history. He finished the season with an average 73.7 through 27 rounds played. He had a season-low round of three-under par 68 during round two of the Gate City Invitational.
