Men's Golf Places Fifth at 2025 NCAA Championship
(PENFIELD, N.Y.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team capped off a strong showing at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships with a fifth-place finish out of 43 teams. The four-day tournament was held at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, New York. The Tartans posted a final-round score of 291, bringing their 72-hole total to 1,185 (298-300-296-291), finishing at +33.

How it Happened:
- Freshman Leonardo Vieira carded a two-under par 70 in round four and ended with a 72-hole score of even par 288 (75-72-71-70), placing him fourth individually in a field of 225 golfers.
- Senior Justin Chan fired a round of even par 72 in his final collegiate round and finished with a seven-over par 295 (74-75-74-72) for the championship, placing tied for 20th individually.
- Sophomore Ryan Dannegger shot his best round of the championship in round four, as he entered the clubhouse with a one-under par 71. The sophomore finished with a 72-hole score of 299 (76-77-75-71).
- Freshman Andy Yu shot a 79 over the final round and ended with a 307 (73-76-79-79).
- Junior David Zhang closed with a 78 for a tournament total of 314 (82-78-76-78).

- This was the Tartans eighth NCAA Championship Tournament appearance and sixth straight.
- The team's 72-hole total of 1,185 (+33) ranks as the third-lowest in program history.
