Justin Chan Named Finalist for Jack Nicklaus Award

(NORMAN, Okla.) – Senior Justin Chan of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team has been named by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as a finalist for the NCAA Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award for the second consecutive year. The Nicklaus Award recognizes the top players at the Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA levels.

Ranked third via Scoreboard powered by Clippd, Chan recorded his first collegiate individual medalist honor at the Golfweek October Classic and has recorded five other top-five finishes this season. The senior from Surrey, England has come away with top-five results in four of his five spring tournaments and enters the NCAA Championship with a team-leading 71.1 scoring average through 23 rounds. Chan is a four-time PING All-Region V honoree and two-time PING All-American, including First Team in 2024. He has recorded 17 rounds of even par or better this season.

The other Division III finalists for the award include Jack Burr of Huntingdon, Jonathan McEwen of Washington & Lee, Haden Ruby of Methodist, and Chase Walts of Methodist. The winner will be announced by Nicklaus on Sunday, June 1 during his annual the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday press conference with awards presented to each of the recipients by Nicklaus and Workday.
