Chan Repeats as UAA Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week
(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the second consecutive week and third time this season, senior Justin Chan of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week following his performance in leading the Tartans at The Tiger Invitational hosted by Hampden-Sydney College last Sunday and Monday.
Chan placed tied for third individually in a field of 100 golfers after he carded a four-under par 140 over the 36-hole event. He opened play with a four-under par 68 before finishing the invite with an even par 72. The finish marked his second straight top 5 finish and third top 3 finish for the year.
Chan has now carded par or under in 13 of his 16 rounds this season and has an average of 70.9 per round.
The Tartans will next compete at the three-day Jekyll Island Invitational at Pine Lakes Golf Course in Jekyll Island, Georgia, beginning Friday, March 21.
