Chan Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior Justin Chan of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week following his performance in leading the Tartans at the Savannah Invitational hosted by Berry College last Monday and Tuesday.

Chan placed tied for fourth individually in a field of 100 golfers after he carded a three-under par 213 over the 54-hole event. He opened play with a round of even par 72 and then fired a three-under 69 before he carded another round of even par 72 over the final 18 holes.

Chan has now carded par or under in 11 of his 14 rounds this season and has an average of 71.1 per round.

The Tartans will next compete at the three-day Jekyll Island Invitational at Pine Lakes Golf Course in Jekyll Island, Georgia, beginning Friday, March 21.
