Chan Ties for Individual Medalist at Golfweek October Classic
(SANDESTIN, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team finished play at the Golfweek October Classic on Tuesday. The Tartans carded a 285 for round three and ended with a 54-hole score of 861 (286-290-285) placing 12th of 24 teams in the three-day competition.

How It Happened:
- Senior Justin Chan tied finished for first individually, in a field of 120 golfers, with an 11-under par over the three rounds, with scores of 67, 66, and 69 for a 54-hole score of 202.
- Junior David Zhang finished with a one-over par 214 (72-71-71) after ending play Wednesday with a round of even par 71.
- Freshman Will Blankenship finished third for the Tartans with a total of 224 (74-75-75).
- Freshman Leonardo Vieira ended play with a 226 total (73-83-70).
- Sophomore Steven Shea finished the 54-hole event with a 234 (79-78-77).
Notes:
- Chan's score of 202 (-11) is the third lowest individual 54-hole total in the program's history.
- The individual medalist honor for Chan is the first of his collegiate career.
