Eight Tartans Football Players Earn CSC Academic All-District Honor

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Eight Carnegie Mellon University football student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III Football.

The Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Players honored were selected by their school's Athletics Communications professionals. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games and carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have achieved at least sophomore academic and athletic standing.

Academic All‐District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America ballot. First‐, second‐ and third-team Academic All‐America honorees will be announced in January, following a vote by CSC's membership, which is comprised of more than 3,000 sports information and athletic communication professionals throughout the United States and Canada.

This year's honorees for the Tartans are:

Caleb Brobst - Senior - 3.94 - Economics
Justin Caputo - Junior - 4.0 - Chemical Engineering
Robert Coury - Graduate Student - 3.97 - Mechanical Engineering
Thomas Coury - Graduate Student - 3.95 - Mechanical Engineering
Garrett Doherty - Junior - 3.96 - Chemical Engineering
Reece Kolke - Sophomore - 4.0 - Finance
Ben Mills - Graduate Student - 3.74 - Chemical and Biomedical Engineering
Tre Vasiliadis - Graduate Student - 3.75 - Business

Vasiliadis, Robert Coury and Thomas Coury are now three-time honorees while Caputo along with Doherty receive the award for the second time.
