Tartans Victorious Against Salisbury

(ASHLAND, Va.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team traveled to Virginia for the Randolph-Macon Invite on Friday, September 13. The Tartans competed against Salisbury University, winning 3-1 and are now 4-3 overall for the season.

Inside the Box Score

  • The Sea Gulls won the first set, 27-25. But the Tartans won the second, third, and fourth sets by 25-18, 25-11, and 25-19 scores.
  • The Tartans hit .208 for the match while the Sea Gulls hit .087.
  • Junior Elizabeth Schlemmer led the offense with 16 kills, followed by graduate student Laura Reichard with 10 kills.
  • Sophomore Neha Tummala handed out 40 of the Tartans' 48 assists.
  • Senior Abby Chen had 24 digs.
  • The Tartans had a total of 12 serving aces with Tummala leading the way with a career-tying five.
