Tartans Compete at Dave Labor Invitational
(SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed in the Dave Labor Invitational on Friday and Saturday among competitors from Division I, II and III.
Running Events:
- Senior Alexa Lowe finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles, with a time of 1:07.73, a new personal best.
- Sophomore Estee Teo finished 11th in the 800-meter dash with a new personal record of 2:21.61.
- Senior Orit Shiang finished 14th in the 1,500-meter run, running a 4:58.53, finishing less than 0.1 seconds behind her was freshman Lexi Ohler in 4:58.55. Junior Adelaide Hall ran a new personal best of 5:06.97, 10 seconds faster than her previous best.
- Sophomore Catherine Stava finished 23rd with a time of 13.07 in the 100-meter dash, she later finished 36th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.72.
- In the 400-meter dash, freshman Alani Timmons ran a new personal best of 1:01.2 to place 14th. Freshman Lily Fox finished 24th with a 1:04.35, a personal record.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of Stava, Teo, Timmons and Fox finished third with a time of 4:13.66.
Field Events:
- Senior Zoe King finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 5.38 meters.
- Freshman Isabelle Garlick finished 21st in the high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters.
- Freshman Sophia Riche finished 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 10.59 meters. Lowe and King finished 15th and 16th with marks of 10.33 meters, and 10.18 meters, respectively. A personal best for King.
- Sophomore Jessica Thiss threw a new personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.74, finishing 20th.
- Junior Sara Christie placed 18th in shot put with a mark of 11.09 meters.
- Freshman Violet McCullough finished 13th in discus with a throw of 35.91 meters.

Next up the Tartans will split into three meets, Susquehanna Multi Meet April 9-10th, the Westminster Invite April 10-11th, and the Bucknell Invitational April 11-12th.
