Tartans Complete Competition at UAA Indoor Championships
(WALTHAM, Mass.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team placed fifth with 51points at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Brandeis University.
Top Performances on the Track:
- Freshman Sophia Riche recorded a new personal-best and recorded the fourth fastest 60-meter hurdle time in CMU history, as she placed third with a time of 9.15 seconds. Senior Iniyaa Mohanraj placed seventh in 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 9.39 seconds. Sophomore Alin Aydogan placed eighth with a mark of 9.62.
- Senior Jackie Liu placed eighth in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:22.31
- In the mile, sophomore Elise Kempf finished eighth, with a new personal-best of 5:02.77, this puts her third all-time in CMU history, .05 behind the second fastest time. Finishing just behind her was senior Margaret Ann Healy in ninth place with a 5:03.09.
- Junior Maya Ducker crossed in a personal-best time of 10:02.42 in the 3,000-meter run to place ninth. This places Ducker third on the CMU all-time list.
Top Performances in the Field:
- In the shot put, junior Sara Christie placed fourth with a throw of 11.24, recording a new personal-best. Freshman Violet McCullough finished eighth with her own personal best of 11.00 meters.
- In the triple jump, Mohanraj placed sixth and senior Alexa Lowe took seventh with jumps of 11.15 meters and 11.01 meters.
- Sophomore Catalina Howells cleared the bar at 1.59 meters to take seventh in the high jump.
