Kanumuri Ends Run in Semifinals at ITA Cup

(ROME, Ga.) - Carnegie Mellon University freshmen Ika Kanumuri and Jane Wong continued play at the ITA Cup on Saturday. Kanumuri competed in the semifinals while Wong in the consolation semifinals.

Kanumuri faced sophomore Rebecca Kong of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the semifinals and fell 6-3, 7-6 (5). Wong ran up against senior Eliana Hanna of Washington University in St. Louis in the consolation semifinals. Wong won the first set 6-3 and dropped the second 6-4 before retiring in the third set.

That concludes play for the women's tennis team for the fall season with their next competition scheduled for January 31 with a dual match against Slippery Rock University.
