#8 Tartans Victorious 4-2 Over #22 Kenyon
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The eighth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team hosted the 22nd-ranked Kenyon College on Saturday, as the Tartans beat the Owls 4-2, putting them at 20-2 overall and the Owls at 13-6.
Inside the Results
- The Tartans won two of three doubles matches, earning the first point of the match.
- Freshman Ancele Dolensek and junior Divya Venkatarama were victorious in second doubles with a score of 6-3.
- Junior Anika Joshi and freshman Shelly Zinchenko won third doubles 6-1.
- The Owls came out on top in first and second singles, while the Tartans won third, fourth, and sixth singles while the fifth spot was unfinished.
- Senior Sarah Yang took the win in third singles with a score of 6-1, 6-4.
- With her second victory of the day, Venkatarama went 6-1, 6-4 in fourth singles.
- The match was clinched when junior Manuela Van Cotthem won sixth singles in the third set, with scores of 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
- Freshman Victoria Gazda played fifth singles and was winning by the score of 7-6, 3-6, 4-1 when play was stopped.
