(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon women's tennis team competed in two matches on Saturday against Grove City College and Allegheny College. The Tartans dominated in both matches, winning 7-0 against the Wolverines and Gators. The Tartans are now at 18-2 overall.

Inside the Results Against Grove City

  • The Tartans swept doubles play.
  • Senior Zoe Angell and junior Anna Chow started out strong at first doubles, winning 6-2.
  • Freshman Shelly Zinchenko and junior Anika Joshi won second doubles with a score of 6-1.
  • Freshman Victoria Gazda and freshman Rachel Li won third doubles 6-1.
  • The Tartans also swept the singles matches, securing a final score of 7-0.
  • Zinchenko won at first singles 6-0, 6-0.
  • At second singles, freshman Ancele Dolensek came out on top 6-0, 6-2.
  • Junior Manuela Van Cotthem won fifth singles 6-0, 6-1.
  • Junior Divya Venkatarama, Joshi, and Gazda each won their singles matches with scores of 6-1, 6-0.

Inside the Results Against Allegheny

  • Once again, the Tartans were victorious in all three doubles matches. Angell and Chow won 6-0, Dolensek and Venkatarama won 6-2, and Van Cotthem and Li won 6-1.
  • Zinchenko started off strong at first singles, earning a score of 6-1, 6-1.
  • Li, Angelo, and Dolensek all won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0.
  • At third singles, Gazda earned a score of 6-0, 6-2.
  • Joshi won fifth singles 6-0, 6-1.
