Locateli and Wang End Careers with All-Region Accolades
(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) - Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer seniors Helena Locateli and Vivian Wang have been named to the United Soccer Coaches Region VII team. Both earned a spot on the third team, collecting the first all-region accolade of their careers and the first for a Tartan since 2023.
Locateli was the anchor to the Tartans' defense as a center back who stablized the defense and aided in the team recording eight shutouts. She started 13 of 15 games played and scored the game-winning goal against Ohio Northern early in the season.
Wang was the only Tartan to start all 18 games and directed the midfield both offensively and defensively. Wang scored one goal this season and assisted on another, both coming in non-conference play.
The two honors for the Tartans marks the 13th time in program history at least two players garnered attention from their regional opponents.
